RUMFORD – The wedding of Naomi Garland and Doug Viens was held at 1 p.m. on Aug. 2 in the front yard at the home of the parents of the bridegroom in Rumford. A reception was held at the Sons of Italy Hall.
Mrs. Viens is the daughter of Stanley and Linda Garland of Lisbon. Mr. Viens is the son of Paul and Eva Viens of Rumford.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white gown with spaghetti straps and embroidered sequins. She carried a bouquet of silk flowers.
Alyson Whiting, best friend, was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Sheryl Cameron and Amy Gagon, friends. Adri Garland, daughter of the bride, was flower girl.
Daryell Heald, best friend of the bridegroom, performed the duties of best man. Ushers were J.J. Guzman, friend, and Mike Viens, son of the bridegroom. Zack Morin, son of the bridegroom, was ring bearer.
The bride is a 2001 graduate of Brunswick High School in Brunswick and is employed at Dingley Press in Lisbon.
The bridegroom is a 1991 graduate of Greater Lawrence Technical School in Lawrence, Mass., and a 1996 graduate of Penobscot Job Corps. He is also employed at Dingley Press in Lisbon.
The couple is residing in Lewiston.
