Q I have been told that women older than 40 should wear long pants, not capris.

I am 75, but I am not overweight. My legs are still shapely, and I see nothing wrong with capris that are almost to the ankle.

What do you think?

Answer: I think there is no reason why a trim, shapely woman should not wear capri pants, no matter what her age. Now, if you were talking hot pants …

Looking attractive in capri pants (or any pants) has nothing to do with age.

The key is finding styles that fit right – that are neither too tight nor too baggy. If the wearer is overweight, capris (or any pants) look most flattering teamed with easy-fitting, hip-length tops and low-heeled flats or sandals.
