LEWISTON – The wedding of Laura Marie Barnes and Mark Raymond Stevens was held at 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 2 at the Ramada Inn in Lewiston. Marie Russell, notary public, officiated at the ceremony.
Mrs. Stevens is the daughter of David and Miriam Clough of Kingsland, Ga., and the late Jon Blankenship. Mr. Stevens is the son of Stan and Carol Proctor of Sabattus and the late Gordon Stevens Sr.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, David Clough, wore a white floor-length strapless gown with claret red trim and carried a bouquet of red roses with Stargazer lilies and a hanging cascade of greenery, baby’s breath and white orchids.
A friend of the bride, Amy Frost, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Laura Roberts and Jessica Proulx, friends of the bride, and Rebecca and Michelle Blankenship, sisters of the bride. Savannah Barnes, daughter of the bride, was junior bridesmaid, and Jasmine Stevens, daughter of the bridegroom, was flower girl.
Serving as best man for his friend was Will White. Ushers were Gene Rand, Darrin Biegler and Paul Elliot, friends of the bridegroom, and Gordon Stevens, brother of the bridegroom. Brandon Stevens, son of the bridegroom, was junior usher, and A.J. (Allen Frost III), son of the matron of honor, was ring bearer.
A reception followed at the Ramada Inn, after which the couple traveled to various places, including the Samoset Resort and Hampton Beach, N.H. They are residing in Lewiston.
The bride attended Lewiston schools and received her GED at Lewiston Adult Education. She is a bartender at Del’s Bar and Grill on Walnut Street.
The bridegroom received his GED at Auburn Adult Education and is employed at Old London Foods at Country Kitchen in Lewiston.
