Topsham library to elect board

TOPSHAM — Topsham Public Library annual meeting of the corporation will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, in the Highlands Community Room.

Items of note to be discussed are the election of a new board members and the proposed slate of officers for fiscal year 2015. All are welcome. The meeting agenda will be posted on the website.

Workshop on Alzheimer’s disease

LEWISTON — The Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter will present the free workshop, “Overview of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Programs and Services,” from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 21, at SeniorsPlus, 8 Falcon Road.

The program is for community members and anyone who would like to learn more about programs and services provided by the Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter.

The program will provide an overview of available support services and education and training programs in Maine and discuss the importance of accessing available services to lessen the burden of the disease.

Turner Legion Post to hold meeting

TURNER — Turner American Legion Post 111 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 17, at the at the Leavitt Institute Building, Route 117, Turner Center. All veterans are invited to attend. For more information, contact Adjutant Ed Lapage at 224-7274 .

Bridge club announces winners

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners at the Lewiston Armory on July 7 were as follows: first, Les Buzzell and Luke Merry; second, Richard Balian and Jim Krainin; third, Jeanine Kivus and David Lock; fourth, Hazel Glazier and Priscilla Rooth.

Winners on July 8 were: first, Jeanine Kivus and Fred Letourneau; second, Richard Balian and Rick Verrill; third, Luke Merry and Mike Quinn; fourth, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe.

Games are played at 9 a.m. every Monday and Tuesday in the Seniors’ Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. A partner is guaranteed and all bridge players are welcome. Call Rosemarie Goodwin at 754-1431 for more information.
