AUBURN — Auburn Public Library’s Teen Summer Reading Program, “Spark a Reaction @ Your Library,” will continue for the next two weeks, when the focus will turn to environmental science.
On Tuesday, July 15, Jim Chandler from the Auburn Land Lab will be at the library. With him, attendees will explore climate change and its impacts in the community. Participants will also have the opportunity to make their own solar collectors.
Registration is requested so there are enough supplies for everyone. To register, call 333-6640, ext. 4.
On Tuesday, July 22, Noah Ebel from the Auburn Water District will discuss the Lake Auburn Watershed, what it is and why it is important to protect it.
Both events will take place from 3 to 4 p.m. in the Androscoggin Community Room.
Teens who haven’t yet signed up for the Summer Reading Program may still do so by visiting the second-floor reference desk. For signing up, teens will get an entry into the grand prize drawing on Aug. 8. They don’t need to be a participant in the Summer Reading Program to attend any of the programs.
For more information on this and other teen programs, visit the Auburn Public Library calendar at www.auburnpubliclibrary.org, click on Programs and choose Calendar. The teen programs are highlighted in green.
