BOOTHBAY HARBOR – The marriage of Laura Bates Roy and Charles Andrew Kibort III took place Saturday, Aug. 25, in Boothbay Harbor. The Rev. Kevin Martin, a friend of the bride’s family, performed the ceremony at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church overlooking the harbor.

The bride is the daughter of Robert and Katherine Roy of Bailey Island, formerly of Lewiston. The bridegroom is the son of Charles and Alice Kibort of Palm Beach, Fla.

Sarah Roy was maid of honor for her sister. Charles A. Kibort Jr. served as the best man for his son.

A reception followed at the Newagen Seaside Inn on Southport Island, where family and friends dined and danced beneath a tent along the water’s edge.

The bride is a 1999 graduate of Catherine McAuley High School and is a 2003 graduate of Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. She is currently employed at UNUM in Portland as a manager of corporate brand and advertising.

The bridegroom is a 1993 graduate of Rye High School in New York and a 1997 graduate of Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla. He is currently employed at The Via Group in Portland as a media planner.

The couple celebrated their honeymoon in Bermuda.
