LISBON – A party was held July 15 to honor and celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of Richard and Anita LeBlanc of Lisbon. They were married in Lewiston on July 20, 1957, at Saints Peter and Paul Church.

The celebration began at Holy Trinity Parish Church in Lisbon Falls, where the Rev. Lionel Chouinard officiated at the renewal of wedding vows. Words of love and appreciation were shared by their children.

A reception followed in their honor at the home of their son, Kevin, in Scarborough, where family gathered for a day of food, laughter and memories of their wedding day. Their daughter, Cathy Cook, surprised them with a video presentation of special memories gathered from numerous photos throughout the years, from childhood to present. A beautiful two-tiered cake, decorated with golden roses, was made by their daughter, Shirley Lemelin, and a toast was given by their son, Kevin LeBlanc.

Mr. LeBlanc served in the Navy for four years. He had worked at Lewiston Public Works for 22 years and has been retired since 1994. He is also an active member of the Knights of Columbus.

Mrs. LeBlanc had worked for Koss Shoe and later stayed home to raise her children. They have been enjoying their retired years traveling, as well as spending time with their children and grandchildren.

They have four children, Catherine and husband, Richard Cook, of Manchester, N.H., Karen and husband, Gerold Lebel, of Litchfield, Shirley and husband, Gerard Lemelin, of Turner, and Kevin and wife, Chantel LeBlanc, of Scarborough. Their grandchildren are Amber, Aaron, Scott, Heather, Shawn, Leah, Keith and Amanda. Their step-grandchildren are Mike, Peter, Stephanie and Harley. Their step-great-grandchildren are Lexy, Brooke and Lilly.
