FARMINGTON — The Farmington Historical Society will hold their second Summer 2014 Auction at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at 118 High St. Preview begins at 5.
The auction series began in the summer of 2013 with three monthly auctions. The success of the auctions prompted the Society to continue the series in 2014.
Proceeds from the auctions are used to continue church building renovations which will enable use by the public and private organizations. Renovation projects completed to date are the expansion of the altar area for use as a performance stage, electrical for performers’ sound systems and heating and air conditioning for the upstairs performance area.
Donation of items for the auctions are being accepted Saturday mornings at 126 High St. (the Octagon House) from 9 a.m. to noon. Consignment items are also accepted. For large item or large quantity pickup, call auction coordinator Dan Maxham at 491-8635 to schedule.
