LEWISTON – The wedding of Kristen Sarah Cloutier and Denny Patrick Bourgoin was held at 2 p.m. on Aug. 19 at the Bates College Chapel in Lewiston. The Rev. Frank Murray officiated at the ceremony.
Mrs. Bourgoin is the daughter of Barbara Cloutier of Ocala, Fla., and Roger Cloutier of Lewiston. Mr. Bourgoin is the son of Therese Clavet of Lewiston and the late Normand Bourgoin.
The bride wore a light gold strapless gown with sweetheart neckline and corset back, featuring inverted pleats that fell toward the hemline and were ornamented with pearls and crystals. On the back of the gown, panels swept together creating a butterfly bustle, framing a spectacular raining of beadwork down the back of the gown. Embellishments included Swarovski crystals, sequins, seed beads and pearls. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white hydrangea, spray roses and green hypericum.
Colleen McCracken was matron of honor for her sister, and James Caron, childhood friend of the bridegroom, was best man. Ushers were Jamey Bourgoin and Gregory Bourgoin, brothers of the bridegroom.
A private reception followed, after which the couple traveled to Camden. A honeymoon to St. Maarten and St. Barthelemy is planned during Christmas and New Year.
The bride is a 1992 graduate of Edward Little High School and a 1997 graduate of Northeastern University, with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She is currently a candidate for a master’s in leadership studies at the University of Southern Maine, L-A College. She is employed at Harward Center for Community Partnerships at Bates College.
The bridegroom is a 1991 graduate of St. Dominic Regional High School and is employed at Thos. Moser Cabinetmakers. He is also assistant women’s soccer coach at Bates College.
