1922 – 2014

AUBURN — Fern P. Larock, 92, of 751 Washington Ave., Auburn, died Monday Aug. 25, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice following a long illness.

She was born in Greene on March 15, 1922, a daughter of the late Edward and Georgianna (Therrien) Perreault, and had been a resident of this community all of her life. She married Sylvio Larock on June 9, 1945; he died on May 21, 2004.

She owned and operated Nichols Tea Room on Lisbon Street and was the director of the public school lunch program in Lewiston.

Fern liked to cook, knit, tend to her flowers and plants and spend her winters in Florida, and she loved her canaries.

She is survived by four daughters, Marianne Johnston and her husband, Jim, of Sabattus, Sylvia Beauparlant and her husband, Richard, of Sabattus, Barbara Beauparlant and her husband, Norman, of Poland and Deborah Boulanger of Springtown, Texas; one sister, Rita Beaulieu, of Auburn; eight grandchildren, Jim Johnston and his wife, Pam, of Marlborough, Mass., Janice Johnston Huston and her husband, Terry, of Lisbon Falls, Douglas Beauparlant and his wife, Renee, of Sabattus, Lori Dineen and her husband, Brian, of Lisbon Falls, Kevin Beauparlant and his wife, Kelly, of Holland, Pa., Joy Shine and her husband, Derek, of Natick, Mass., Brian Beauparlant and his wife, Jamie, of Poland and Kali Boulanger of Fort Thomas, Ky.; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Fleurette Lachapelle and Blanche Field; three brothers, Edward, Wilfred and Edouard Perreault; a grandson, Jacob Boulanger; and a great-grandson, Camrin Beauparlant.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Sarah Frye Home and the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to Fern.
