WINTHROP – Bruce A. Mortimer and Judith E. Jewell of Winthrop are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Leah L. Mortimer, to Thomas P. Huri, son of Daniel D. Huri and Annette C. Huri of Dover-Foxcroft.

Miss Mortimer is the stepdaughter of Brian Jewell also of Winthrop. She is also the granddaughter of Anita Perkins of Castine and Auburn and Greta and Asa Gordon of Winthrop. She is a 1998 graduate of Winthrop High School and 2003 graduate of the University of New England with a master’s degree in occupational therapy. She is currently employed at the Margaret Murphy Center for Children in Lewiston as an occupational therapist.

Mr. Huri is the grandson of Theresa Paradis and the late Bertrand Paradis of Lewiston and the late Louis and Gwendolyn Huri of Rangeley. He is a 1998 graduate of Foxcroft Academy and 2000 graduate of Southern Maine Technical College with a degree in electrical technology. He is currently employed by Time Warner Cable of Maine in South Portland as an escalation technician.

An Aug. 5, 2006, wedding is planned at the Bates College Chapel.
