GREENE – The wedding of Monica Linda Lessard and Thomas Paul Steinmetz was held on Oct. 5 at 11 a.m. in an outdoor setting in Greene. Virginia Fowler, notary public, officiated at the ceremony.
Mrs. Steinmetz is the daughter of John Lessard and Carol Fontnette of Lewiston. Mr. Steinmetz is the son of John Steinmetz of New York and Julie Hanson of Nebraska.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a strapless satin gown with sequins and a shawl. She carried a bouquet of white roses.
Carol Fontnette was matron of honor for her daughter, and Beth Steinmetz, sister of the bridegroom, was bridesmaid.
A brother of the bride, Matthew Lessard, served as best man, and Greg Steinmetz, brother of the bridegroom, was usher. A reception followed at the home of the bride’s aunt in Greene, after which the couple traveled through the Midwest to Nebraska. They are residing in Misawa, Japan.
The bride is a 2004 graduate of Lewiston High School and plans to attend college in Japan in the fall for a degree in nursing. She is a housewife.
The bridegroom is a 2004 graduate of Holdrege High School and is taking college courses for computer science in Japan. He is serving with the U.S. Navy, stationed in Japan.
