AUBURN — “Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson

Donald Bruce Wyse, 71, of Auburn, adored husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, reached the end of his journey on Wednesday, Sept. 10, but leaves behind many bright and memorable trails.

Don was born in Lewiston on March 3, 1943, a son of Charlotte May (Wyse) Walton and stepfather, George Adelbert Walton. He was raised in Auburn and was a 1961 graduate of Edward Little High School, after which he served four years in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee.

Don was a police officer for the Auburn Police Department, followed by a long career in transportation as a tractor-trailer truck driver for several local companies. In 1994, he bought Corey’s Driving School, where he taught basic driver’s education training, as well as provided instruction and safety training for tractor-trailers, RVs and 15-passenger vans.

Don had many interests, including traveling, motorsports, golf, “tinkering” and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of Tranquil Masonic Lodge No. 29 in Auburn.
