1931 – 2014

LEWISTON — Jeannine Lessard Gosselin, 83, formerly of Rosedale Acres in Lewiston, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 13, after a long illness.

Jeannine was born to Alfred and Julienne Lessard in Augusta on July 7, 1931. She graduated from St. Augustine’s School and continued on to receive a degree in hair dressing from Central Beauty School in Augusta.

Jeannine worked as a kindergarten aide under Sister Margaret at Holy Cross School. She also worked at LaVardiere’s drug store, did hair dressing out of her home and provided child care for many years. Jeannine was involved with Cub Scout Pack 116 for more than 20 years as its treasurer and religious award coordinator. She was a member of Holy Cross Church for her entire life and served as an Eucharistic minister up until her illness.

Jeannine is survived by her son, Bill and his wife, Melissa, of Lewiston; sisters, Joan Lessard of Augusta and Elaine Carpentier of Chelsea; stepson, Robert Gosselin and wife, Tracy, of Lisbon; and stepdaughter, Valerie Barclay of Lewiston. She has two wonderful and talented grandchildren, Zachary Gosselin and Megan Gosselin of Lewiston.

Jeannine was predeceased by her parents, Alfred and Julienne; husband, Robert; and brother, Alfred “Joseph” Lessard.
