1947 – 2014
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Cheryl Anne “Jackie” Michaud, 66, of Asheboro, N.C., died Thursday, Sept. 11, in Winston-Salem, N.C.
She was born in Lewiston on Nov. 1, 1947, a daughter of Roland and Emilienne Doyon. She married her beloved husband, Jim Michaud, on April 20,1968; they had two children, Cherie Michaud Blake and Marc Michaud.
She had a love of the ocean and, with Jim by her side, she loved going to the beach, camping, traveling, visiting with friends and having a “Good Cup of Coffee,” having her grandson, Jaxon, over for sleepovers and spending winters in Florida, where they enjoyed time with friends and family.
She attended Holy Family and Lewiston schools and was a hairdresser at Hairstyles by Georgette and Hairlines over 20 years. Then, with Jim, went on to own The Captain Bennett House Bed and Breakfast in Southwest Harbor for several years, which they truly loved.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Michaud; daughter, Cherie Michaud Blake and fiance, Butch Martineau; son, Marc Michaud and wife, Corinne Michaud; the best grandson, Jaxon Michaud; brother, Paul “JP” Doyon and wife, Helen; sister, Linda Spugnardi and husband, Bob; and a sister-in-law, Cecile Doyon, wife of Gerry Doyon.
She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Gerry Doyon.
