LEWISTON – The wedding of Melissa Harps and Scott Vyr was held at 11 a.m. on May 21 at Holy Cross Church in the Lewiston. The Rev. Dan Greenleaf officiated at the ceremony.
Mrs. Vyr is the daughter of Raymond and Susan Harps of Lewiston. Mr. Vyr is the son of Rejeane Blackerby and Norm Vyr.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white satin, A-line gown with spaghetti straps, floral and pearl appliqués and a traditional length train. A rhinestone tiara supported her veil and she carried a cascade of Calla lilies and hydrangeas.
Nicole Chase, best friend, was maid of honor and bridesmaids were Tricia Lizotte, cousin of the bride, and Elizabeth Ryder, friend of the bride. Alyssa Manchester, niece of the bridegroom, was the flower girl.
Marc Bureau, best friend, performed the duties of best man and ushers were Troy Harps, brother of the bride, and Josh Mosher, friend. Nicholas Ouellette, a cousin of the bride, of Orleans, Ontario, Canada, was the ring bearer.
A reception followed at Carriage House Plus in Lewiston.
The bride is a 1999 graduate of St. Dominic Regional High School and is employed at TD Banknorth in Connecticut.
The bridegroom is a 2000 graduate of Mechanic Falls High School and is currently serving in the U.S. Navy.
