LEWISTON – A surprise party was held recently for Philippe and Jacqueline Turgeon of Lewiston, on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.

Party hosts for the event were Kim and Glenn Appleton and Misti and Robert Muscat, daughters and sons-in-law of the couple. The gathering was held at Rolandeau’s in Auburn.

Photo collage place mats and displays of their 50 years together were displayed. A special “Jeopardy” game was played, with an anniversary theme. A three-tier anniversary cake, made by granddaughter, Ashley Appleton, was served. Toastmasters were Kim Appleton and Misti Muscat.

Mr. Turgeon and the former Jacqueline Berube were married on May 12, 1954, at St. Joseph’s Church in Lewiston. They have two daughters, Kim Appleton of Merrimac, Mass., and Misti Muscat of Alpharetta, Ga. Their grandchildren are Matthew Philippe Appleton and Ashley Eliza Appleton, both of Merrimac, Mass.

Mrs. Turgeon was employed at Knapp Shoe Co. and is retired from the Department of the Navy, having worked at the Brunswick Naval Air Station.

Mr. Turgeon was also employed at Knapp Shoe Co. and is retired from the U.S. Navy Submarine Service. He is also retired from the U.S. Postal Service and is self-employed as a master electrician.

Guests attended from Melbourne, Fla., Uncasville, Conn., Portland, Manchester, N.H., and Sabattus.
