1924 – 2014

AUBURN — Betty Jane Hebert, 90, a resident of Auburn, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 6, with her family at her side.

The daughter of Caroline and George Beaulieu, she was born in Ladysmith, Wis., on May 2, 1924. She graduated from Madawaska High School, Class of 1942, and on Jan. 20, 1943, she married the love of her life, Eldon Hebert, in Las Vegas, N.M. A devoted wife and mother of her five children, Betty worked on and off at different jobs over the years.

After the passing of her husband, Eldon, in July 1987, Betty settled in Auburn and became very active in several Senior Citizen groups. Among her favorite pastimes was spending time with her family, knitting and crocheting. She enjoyed camping for several years and loved it when family would come and stay for visits.

She is survived by her children, Judy Miller and husband, Bruce, of Mechanic Falls, Barbara Pelletier and husband, Joseph “Gary,” of Rumford, George Hebert and wife, Cheryl, of Auburn and Janice Turbide and husband, Lionel, of Casco; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her eldest, Velma Walker, of St. Albans.
