Caron is a native of Lewiston, growing up in the Gas Patch section of the city between the river and the canal near Locust Street. He served as an altar boy, lecturer and choir pianist at St. Mary’s Church, the present Franco Center.

His piano experience began when his mother, Claudette, taught him to play the “Midnight Fire Alarm” march when he was 4. He also listened, watched and played music with his uncles, Nel Meservier, Mickey Meservier, Mike Giasson and Ray Chouinard, members of the well-known C’est si Bon Band.

In 1995, he used these experiences and combined them with the stories told by his family about life in the city to write the words and music for the bicentennial production, “Lewiston: A New Home.”

Other music credits include writing music for the Public Theatre and Lewiston-Auburn Community Little Theatre. He also writes liturgical music, directs two church choirs for the Prince of Peace Parish and plays for the French Mass at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. He directs and music directs plays and musicals and will be performing in the upcoming Monmouth Community Players production of “Grey Gardens” in January.

Cyr was born in Lewiston and graduated from St. Dominic High School. She has performed in musical production such as “Show Boat” and “My Fair Lady,” as well as “Lewiston: A New Home.” She is a cantor and member of St. Philip’s Church Choir.
