1925 – 2014

GRAY — Eunice T. Stone, “Gram,” 88, passed peacefully into her eternal resting place on Sunday, Nov. 9, while surrounded by her family.

She was born in Scarborough on Dec. 14, 1925, to William and Thelma (Verrill) Winslow. Eunice graduated from Scarborough High School in 1943. She married Lewis C. Stone. She graduated with a degree in applied science from Andover College in 1976, where she received the national “Who’s Who” award for her outstanding achievements and contributions to the school and community.

She was a proud member of the Mayflower Society and an active member and former master of the Harraseeket Grange in Freeport. She belonged to the Bible Believing Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Prayer Shawl Ministry.

Eunice worked at Healthtex in Portland for many years and retired from her secretarial position at Grover G. Alexander’s law office in Gray. She found enjoyment after retirement working with special needs children in the Falmouth School Department.

Eunice’s greatest joys in life were spending time with family, playing cribbage and going to Bible study. She lived her life with an unyielding faith that guided her heart in helping those in need; her home was open to everyone. The little things in life meant the most to her and her smile and laughter were contagious.

She is survived by four children, William L. Stone and wife, Barbara, Carole J. Millet and husband, Miles, Fred E. Stone and Gladys E. Glasier and husband, James; 17 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, Thelma Verrill and William Winslow; her son, Perry C. Stone; and siblings, Marjorie Lincoln, Phyllis Primevara and Doris Hunnewell.
