PARIS — The 14th annual Alcoholism and Addictions Conference will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at the First Congregational Church.

Alcoholism and addiction have touched countless lives in Oxford County. Awareness, discussion and options for treatment and recovery are key to decreasing the affects of substance abuse on families and communities.

Featured presenters this year include addiction specialist Dr. Mark Publicker, who will speak on “Addiction & the Brain.” Matt B., having five years of recovery under his belt, will talk about his journey through opiate addiction.

Former Judge McElwee will talk on his “View from the Bench.” Attendees will also hear law enforcement officer Zane Loper talk about his “View from the Cruiser,” hear from 12-step members and from a local treatment provider engaging the audience in a discussion about “Discovering Wholeness.”
