SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — Daniel Earl Gammon died Wednesday, Nov. 5, in San Francisco, Calif., after a courageous battle against chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Born Aug. 22, 1957, in Lewiston, Daniel attended Telstar High School in Bethel before enlisting in the U.S. Navy and serving on the U.S.S. Haleakala (AE-25).

After his service, Daniel made his home in San Francisco and earned a certificate (with honors) in software development from the Computer Learning Center, and worked for several years at Bank of America.

He was creative, with an eye for design. He enjoyed painting, drawing, writing and collecting antiques. He was passionate about technology; right up until the end of his life, he always had the latest gadget on hand.

A music lover with eclectic tastes, Daniel collected hundreds of vintage vinyl records. He loved film, especially bad horror movies, and he loved his adopted city of San Francisco, where he shared his home with his beloved cat, Kiari.
