1933 – 2014

BUCKFIELD — Muriel K. Buswell, 81, of Buckfield, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at her home.

She was born in Peru on Aug. 4, 1933, a daughter of Gerald A. and Gladys May (Chenery) Knox. She attended local schools, graduating from Dixfield High School.

On Sept. 1, 1951, she married John F. Buswell in West Paris; he died on Sept. 9, 2002.

Muriel worked at Withington Manufacturing in Buckfield and Minot, and later at Livermore Shoe.

She enjoyed reading, Tuesday afternoon card games and Wednesday morning breakfasts with friends, knitting, crocheting, flower gardening, keeping a tidy home and especially time spent with her family.

Muriel is survived by her three children, Wanda Keene and her husband, Grover, of Buckfield, Velma Hanson and her husband, Jay, of Buckfield and Gerald Buswell and his wife, Stephanie, of Buckfield; three grandchildren, Lisa Leavitt and her husband, Jason, of Turner, Jonathan Keene and his wife, Michelle, of Buckfield and Danielle Wyman and her husband, Matt, of Union; six great-grandchildren, Nolan and Van Keene, Jayden and Kenzee Leavitt and Kendall and Kallie Wyman; and two brothers, Jim Knox of Buckfield and Gene Knox of Rumford.

She was predeceased by her husband, John Sr.; an infant son, John F. Buswell Jr.; and siblings, Lila Bell, Kenneth Knox, Annie Voter Barker, Verlie Hubbard, Elaine Boggs and Bobby Knox.
