Eagles to host holiday crowd night

RUMFORD — The Rumford Eagles will be hold an under-35 crowd night from 8 p.m. to midnight on Wednesday, Nov. 26, Thanksgiving Eve, in the Social Club room. There will be no cover charge. Music by Dapper Gents of Portland.

Craft fair in New Sharon Nov. 29

‘A Christmas to Remember’ Dec. 6

OXFORD — The Resistance Ministries, a nonprofit youth ministry, will hold their seventh annual “A Christmas to Remember” and Chinese auction on Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Rock House Teen Center, 254 Webber Brook Road. The auction is open to the public.

Doors will open at 1:30 p.m.; ticket drawing starts at 3 p.m.

There will be hundreds of brand new items along with a dollar table, grab bags and food and drink available for purchase. Ticket prices at the door start at 100 tickets for a donation of $25.

Advance ticket deal, while they last, start at 100 tickets for $20, 200 tickets for $35 and 300 tickets for $40. The advance ticket deals are limited to the first 20 people to buy in advance.

Thanksgiving dinner in Norway

NORWAY — A free community Thanksgiving dinner will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 27, at First Universalist Church, 479 Main St.

The meal includes roast turkey, squash, mashed potatoes, peas, down home stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy, coffee, soft drinks and dessert.

RUMFORD — A free Thanksgiving Dinner hosted by the VFW Post 1641 and the Men’s Auxiliary will be served at noon on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, 330 Waldo St. The public is welcome.

Scouts to host Thanksgiving dinner

RUMFORD — River Valley Scout troops of all disciplines will hold their annual free community dinner from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30, at the Napoleon Ouellette American Legion Post, 184 Congress St.

The menu consists of a traditional Thanksgiving fare, including turkey, stuffing, vegetables and several different desserts.

While not necessary for admission, attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the local food bank.

All forms of scouting are time-honored organizations that help to build leadership, character, morals and citizenship in the youth that participate. The dinner is a way for the scouts to develop those attributes, give back to the community and honor their commitment to help others.

Craft fair in Andover Dec. 6

ANDOVER — The Andover Firemen’s Association will hold a craft fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Andover Fire Station.

Santa is expected to arrive at 2 p.m.
