FARMINGTON — The Board of Selectmen will hold a hearing Tuesday to decide whether a house at 130 Wilton Road is considered dangerous under state law.
The board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 25 at the Municipal Building.
The hearing was tabled in September for 60 days in give homeowner Ted Gay and his daughter, Andra Hutchins, time to respond.
The home is before Center Bridge as drivers enter town from Wilton Road.
Code Enforcement Officer Steve Kaiser told the board in September that he wrote to Gay and Hutchins in August to tell them “the town is receiving complaints about the property being a prominent eyesore.”
Farmington police officers have been keeping an eye on the property after they received a report of a suspected transient possibly staying inside the empty building about a month ago.
Police have not seen anyone around the property or had any more complaints, Farmington police secretary Bonnie Pomeroy said Friday.
In September, an attorney for Gay told Kaiser that Hutchins did not have power of attorney for Gay at the time Kaiser’s letters were received. Gay also requested 60 days to respond to the letters with a plan for the property.
