1922 – 2014

LEWISTON — Patricia P. Adams, 92, wife of the late Richard C. Adams, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, in Lewiston, with her family at her side.

She was born June 8, 1922, in Brewer, the daughter of George D. and Maryann (Conley) Phillips. Pat attended John Bapst High School, and she graduated in 1940 from Bucksport High School as Salutatorian, and she was a member of the National Honor Society.

She and Richard were married in 1941 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Old Town, and were life-long residents of South Brewer.

Pat worked as a secretary and bookkeeper of St. Teresa’s and St. Joseph’s Parish for many years. She was a longtime communicant of St. Teresa’s and was a member of St. Teresa’s Sodality.

She was a 60-year member of the Daughters of Isabella, Ave Maria Circle No. 422, Bangor, serving in many capacities, including local regent, state regent and international vice regent. Pat was a lifelong Girl Scout leader and trainer, was still a registered member and was a past board member.

Surviving are one daughter, Sharon Spooner and her husband, Kentucky, of Auburn; two grandsons, Richard Spooner and his wife, Denise, of Sabattus and Darin Spooner and his fiancée, Heidi Kimmick, of Lisbon; three great-grandchildren, Joshua Spooner of West Gardiner, Ryan Spooner of Sabattus and Cameron Kimmick of Brunswick; and cousins.

Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Richard C. Adams; her parents, George and Maryann Phillips; three brothers, Wendall, Bunny and Charles “Freddie”; and a sister, Pauline Griffith.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Montello Manor and Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for their devoted care and compassion toward Patricia’s final days with us.
