AUBURN — Auburn City Council workshop and regular meeting. Workshop begins at 5:30 p.m. and topics include a review of two proposed tax incentive/tax increment finance districts. The regular meeting begins at 7 p.m. and topics include a proposed Great Falls Plaza transportation center.

TUESDAY, Dec. 2

LEWISTON — Lewiston City Council workshop and regular meeting. The workshop meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and a discussion of downtown parking requirements is the main topic. The regular meeting begins at 7 p.m. and topics include a proposed extension of the Androscoggin Bank Colisee loan contract with Firland Management and paying Lewiston’s share for work cleaning the water intake line from Lake Auburn.

WEDNESDAY, Dec. 3

Holiday Celebration Parade of Lights — Parade steps off from Great Falls School in Auburn at 6 p.m. and continues up Main Street to Court Street, across Longley Bridge, up Main Street to Lisbon Street, to Pine Street and to Kennedy Park. The Lewiston tree should be lit about 6:30 p.m. Stillbrook Acres of Gray will give free wagon rides along Park Street in Lewiston. Float-judging, entertainment, hot chocolate, snacks and Santa Claus will be there.

In addition, the Auburn Public Library will host arts, crafts and story time from 4 to 6 p.m. The Lewiston Public Library will host a free, interactive ballet presentation at 4:30 p.m.

LEWISTON — Open house of renovated Lewiston Middle School, 6 to 7 p.m., to thank the public for supporting $9.2 million renovation. Students will serve as tour guides.

AUBURN — Auburn School Committee, 7 p.m., Council Chambers of Auburn Hall. On the agenda is the creation of teacher positions to reduce sixth-grade class sizes at Fairview Elementary School.

SATURDAY, Dec. 6

AUBURN — Annual Holiday Festival for Children, hosted by Advocates for Children, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Dominic’s Academy. Entertainment includes Rick Charette, Sparks’ Ark, Mad Science and Santa Claus. Advance tickets available at Shaw’s, $5 for children 12 and under, $7 for adults. For more information, call 783-3990.
