1942 – 2014
AUBURN — Gail M. LaChance, 72, a resident of Auburn, lived a normal life with diabetes until only recently, and following complications, died Friday, Nov. 28, at Clover Manor.
She was born in Lewiston Feb. 11, 1942, the daughter of Richard and Loretta (Deschaines) Hardy. She was educated in Livermore Falls and later moved to Lewiston, where she graduated from the Central Maine School of Nursing, after which she was a full time nurse serving at Central Maine Medical Center and d’Youville Pavilion for more than 25 years.
Gail was an avid sports fan, coach and leader, and she was instrumental in her son’s life. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and was a classic movie lover.
In her later years she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Elyvia and Obsidian.
Besides her grandchildren, she is survived by one son, Eric LaChance and wife, Brooke, of Auburn; one brother, William Hardy and wife, Karen, of Harpswell; two nephews, Jeff and Jason; and one niece, Jill.
