OXFORD — There is lots to do at the Oxford Recreation Center, King Street, in January. The center is now open throughout the winter and spring. The hours are 3 to 6 p.m. Monday and Wednesday: 3 to 8 p.m. Friday; 1 to 8 p.m. Saturday; and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

There are game tables, air hockey, Foosball, pool table, basketball shootout and shuffle board as well as movies and popcorn.

Staff is working to get the skating rink operational as early as possible in January.

The following weekly events are open to the public:

Piloxing with DeeDee Allen will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays at $5 a class. It combines Pilates and boxing with a bit of dance. It is low impact, work at your own pace with no special equipment needed.

Senior Game Days are held from 9:30 a.m. to noon Thursdays. They are free, but donations will be accepted for refreshments.

Yoga is offered with Nikki Pierce from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursdays at $5 a class. The class is good for stress relief while increasing flexibility and toning muscles.

A rabies vaccination clinic will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10. Cost is $10 a dog. Oxford and Otisfield town clerks will be attending to register dogs that have not been registered yet for 2015.

A Family Craft Day will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18. It is free for Oxford residents.

Pickle Ball will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursdays and Saturdays with Howie Munday at the gym in the Oxford Town Office. No experience is necessary. The game is a combination of badminton, tennis and ping-pong.

The Sewing Club meets at 6 p.m. Tuesdays and the Oxford Hills Bridge Club meets at 9 a.m. Fridays.
