1923 – 2015
AUBURN — Georgette M. (Lemay) Brushwein, 91, of Westbrook, died peacefully on Friday, Jan. 16, at the Hospice House, with her children by her side.
Georgie was born in Lewiston on Jan. 31, 1923, a daughter of the late Wilfred and Evangeline (Bazinet) Lemay.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey and his wife, Jolene Walker, of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; her daughter, Rae and her husband, Douglas Rodgers, of Lewiston; as well as her sisters, Roland Clark of Connecticut, Rita Brushwein of Lewiston and Lorraine Reed of Florida; and a brother, Frederick “Bucky,” of Texas.
She was predeceased by her sister, Dora Girard; and brothers, Richard and Robert.
Georgie was a fixture in the Assessor’s Office in Westbrook City Hall until her retirement in 1988. After retiring, she spent her winters down South, where she loved to golf, play Bingo and go out with her friends.
She will be missed by many people, both in Maine and Florida.
