JAY — The following are the events happening at Spruce Mountain High School for the week of Jan. 26 through Feb. 1.
Math meet
Spruce Mountain High School Math Team will compete in a math meet at Oxford Hills High School on Wednesday, Jan. 28.
Tennis coaches
SMHS is still looking for both a boys and a girls tennis coach for this year. There have been no applicants. If coaches aren’t found, the season is in jeopardy of being canceled.
Kennebec Valley Music Festival
The Kennebec Valley Music Festival will be held at Mt. Blue High School on Saturday, Jan. 31. Auditions were held in October for students from 22 different schools. Spruce Mountain High School students who were accepted to the band festival are: Amber Delaney, flute; Sam Brenner, clarinet; William Brenner, clarinet; Brandon Anctil, trumpet; and Tad Jewett, trombone.
Athletics
Tuesday, Jan. 27: Girls basketball at Leavitt, JV 5 p.m., varsity 6:30; boys basketball home vs. Leavitt, JV 5 p.m., varsity 6:30.
Wednesday, Jan. 28: Alpine ski meet Slalom at Titcomb Mountain, 4 p.m.
Friday, Jan. 30: Girls basketball at Gardiner, JV 5 p.m., varsity 6:30; boys basketball home vs. Gardiner, JV 5 p.m., varsity 6:30.
