Edward Little 70, Brewer 27

BREWER — After sprinting out to a 16-point advantage in the first frame, Edward Little never backed off and hustled to a 70-27 rout over Brewer in a late-season KVAC girls’ tilt Friday. 

Emily Jacques led the Red Eddies (11-3) with 18 points, while Molly Murray chipped in with 12. Emily Lord and Cassie Greene led the winless Witches (0-14) with six points each. 

Spruce Mountain 60, MCI 36

JAY — Spruce Mountain scored 22 points in the fourth quarter to run away Friday night and remain undefeated in KVAC Class B girls’ basketball, turning back Maine Central Institute, 60-36.

Samantha Richards led the Phoenix with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Emily Hogan and Alex Bessey each added eight points, with Bessey chipping in eight rebounds and five steals.

Ashley Alton topped MCI (4-10) with 13 points. April McAlpine added 12.

Oxford Hills 50, Cony 22

PARIS — Mikayla Morin rolled up 16 points Friday as Oxford Hills overpowered Cony, 50-22, in KVAC girls’ basketball. 

Anna Winslow chipped in 15 points for the Vikings (11-3), while Erin Eastman tallied nine with three shots from beyond the arc. Cate Silva paced the Rams (1-13) with seven.

Rangeley 50, Valley 15

BINGHAM — Rangeley built a 19-point advantage in the first half and rolled to a 50-15 victory over Valley in an EWC girls’ tilt Friday.

Blayke Morin came up big for the undefeated Lakers (13-0) with 10 points, 14 rebounds and six assists. Taylor Esty led the attack with 15 points.

Haven Mayhew, Hallie Miller and Samantha West topped the Cavaliers (6-9) with four points each. 

Nokomis 41, Leavitt 27

NEWPORT — Nokomis built a nine-point lead in the first quarter and sped away to post a 41-27 win over Leavitt in a late-season KVAC girls’ matchup Friday evening. 

Sydney Moore led the Indians (8-6) with 16 points, highlighted by three shots from beyond the arc. Chelsea Crockett and Michaela Charters chipped in with seven points apiece. 

Sophie Gilbert showed the way with eight points for the Hornets (6-8). Chantel Eells contributed six.

Brunswick 63, Lewiston 60

LEWISTON — After holding a slim one-point lead at the half, Brunswick picked up the pace during the third frame and went on to edge Lewiston 63-60 in a hard-fought KVAC matchup Friday. 

Julia Champagne led the Dragons with a game-high 27 points, while Kolby Levesque tallied 12 on four 3-pointers. Gillian Doehring also contributed nine points. 

The Blue Devils (2-13) had three players in double figures, led by Amanda Swart with 16. Emily Brochu chipped in 14 points, highlighted by four shots from outside the arc. Victoria Harris also contributed 12. 

Forest Hills 62, Buckfield 26

JACKMAN — Forward Caitlin Logston tossed a game-high 16 points as Forest Hills dispatched Buckfield 62-26 in EWC girls’ basketball action Friday.

The Tigers (13-3) pounced to a 28-7 first quarter lead. Linda Riley and Patricia Lessard contributed 13 points apiece for Forest Hills.

Sophomore Kali Litchfield paced the Bucks (5-9) with a team-leading 11 points, while junior forward Ashley Campbell provided six points.
