WALES — Jessica Conant came up big in overtime as Dirigo edged Oak Hill 42-39 in a hotly-contested MVC basketball tilt Monday.
Conant scored three of her 16-point tally in OT, leading the Cougars (13-2) when it counted. Kelsey Hutchins and Lauren Henderson chipped in with nine points each in a well-balanced attack.
The Raiders (10-5) were paced by Meagan Crosby with eight points and six rebounds, while Sara Noel also tallied eight points. Danielle Samson also contributed with five points and six rebounds.
Monmouth 46, Hall-Dale 28
MONMOUTH — Tia Day led a group of nine players to light the boards as Monmouth overpowered Hall-Dale, 46-28, in MVC girls’ basketball action Monday.
Day paced the Mustangs (11-4) with 15 points, while Haley West and Sidney Wilson each chipped in with seven.
The Bulldogs (9-5) were led by Dani Sweet with seven points, while Molly French added six.
York 45, Poland 38
YORK — Mia Briggs netted 12 points and Shannon Todd added 10 as York hustled to a 45-38 victory over Poland in a late-season WMC basketball matchup Monday.
York built a four-point advantage by the half and pulled steadily away.
The Knights were paced by Michaella Arsenault with 12 points, while Nathalie Theriault chipped in with 11.
Edward Little 56, Hampden 18
HAMPDEN — After sprinting out to a 22-point advantage in the first quarter, Edward Little never eased off the gas and sped away to post a 56-18 win over Hampden in KVAC girls’ action Monday.
Emily Jacques led the Red Eddies (12-3) with 15 points, while Brooke Reynolds tallied 13 and Tianna Harriman added 10.
Hampden (9-6) was paced by Cassidy Burke with a five-point performance.
Gray-New Gloucester 69, Freeport 42
GRAY — After building a commanding 13-point advantage in the first frame, Gray-New Gloucester continued to outgun Freeport and notched a 69-42 win Monday evening.
Mariah Valente and Skye Conley led the Patriots (13-1) with 18 points each, while Zoe Adams completed the potent trifecta with 15 points.
Freeport was paced by Kayla Belanger with 11 points, while Regan Lynch chipped in with 10.
St. Dom’s 40, Mt. Abram 22
SALEM — Faith Grady lit the boards for 27 points Monday night to propel St. Dom’s to a 40-22 romp over Mt. Abram in a MVC girls’ tilt.
The Saints used an 18-4 run in the second frame to pull away and take control.
Mt. Abram was paced by Olivia Ryan with a solid 14-point performance.
Carrabec 42, Lisbon 23
NORTH ANSON — Mickayla Willette poured 17 points into the net Monday to lead Carrabec to a 42-23 rout over Lisbon in more late-season MVC action.
Jerzee Rugh chipped in for the Cobras (10-6) with eight points, while Liberty Chestnut added seven.
The Greyhounds (3-12) were paced by Jasmin Le with a solid nine-point effort, while Bree Sautter added six.

York 65, Poland 54
POLAND — Trevor Labonte led a trio of players in double figures as York rolled to a 65-54 victory over Poland in WMC boy’s basketball action Monday.
Labonte netted a team-high 22 points, while Justin Frecker tallied 18 and Mark MacGlashing added 12 in a well-balanced attack.
The Knights (7-7) were paced by Alan Young with a game-high 24 points, while Adam Mocciola chipped in with eight and Derek Michaud added seven.
Lisbon 57, Carrabec 48
NORTH ANSON — After a hard-fought first half, Lisbon used a 18-12 third-quarter run to pull away from Carrabec and went on to post a 57-48 victory over Carrabec in a late-season MVC boys’ tilt Monday.
Jonah Sautter led the Greyhounds with a game-high 21 points, while Noah Carter and Johnny Yim each added 11.
The struggling Cobras (1-14) were paced by Dustin Crawford with a solid 15-point performance, while John Vartanian chipped in with eight.
St. Dom’s 57, Mt. Abram 31
SALEM — After jumping out to a 12-point lead in the first frame, St. Dom’s hustled to a 57-31 victory over Mt. Abram in more late-season boys’ basketball action Monday.
Becket Wagner led the Saints with 15 points, while Mike Bryant tallied 13 and Sam Rimes added 11.
The Roadrunners (3-12) were paced by Tristan Dyer with a solid 11-point effort.
Dirigo 79, Oak Hill 44
WALES — Riley Robinson dropped in six 3-pointers and collected 38 points for himself as Dirigo (13-2) cruised past Oak Hill 79-44 in a boys’ basketball game Monday.
The Cougars quickly built a 40-28 lead by halftime before scoring 39 points in the second half. Kaine Hutchins scored 12 points and Gavin Arsenault added 10. Clay Swett helped out with 11 points.
Drew Gamage threw in 13 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for Oak Hill (3-12). Dalton Therrien scored 10 points and Max Strout had 11.
Hall-Dale 69, Monmouth 49
MONMOUTH — Hall-Dale used a 20-6 third-quarter run to take command Monday and cruised to a 69-49 victory over Monmouth in more MVC boy’s basketball action.
Nate Crocker led the Bulldogs (3-11) with a game-high 22 points, while Will Lapointe chipped in with 14.
The Mustangs (8-7) were paced by Luke Thombs with 16 points, while Hunter Richardson added 12.
Gray-New Gloucester 67, Freeport 53
FREEPORT — After a hotly-contest first half, Gray-New Gloucester used a 23-16 third quarter run to pull away and went on to post a 67-53 late-season win over Freeport Monday evening.
Andreas Kariotis led the Patriots (7-7) with 19 points, while Tyler St. Pierre chipped in with 17 in an effective two-man attack.

Lewiston 5, Falmouth 2
FALMOUTH — Jeromey Rancourt netted a hat trick and added an assist as Lewiston defeated two-time defending state champion, 5-2, Monday at Family Ice Center.
Rancourt gave the Blue Devils (8-3-1) an early 1-0 lead 2:24 into the game and assisted on a goal by Griffin Wade six minutes later. Lewiston grabbed a 3-0 lead on Rancourt’s second of the night 3:50 into the second period. His hat-trick goal made it 4-1 with under a minute left in the frame.
Falmouth (9-4) cut the deficit in half with 11 minutes remaining in the third, but Kyle Morin capped off the Blue Devils’ win with an empty-netter in the final minute.
College basketball
CMCC 86, UMPI 71
AUBURN — Eleven players found the scoring column, as Central Maine Community College pulled away for an 86-71 victory over the University of Maine at Presque Isle. Gabby Foy led three double-figure scorers for the Mustangs (12-4) with 27 points, while Laura Soohey tallied 18 points and pulled down 12 rebounds.
Lexi Larson chipped in with 12 points and dished out a team-high six assists. Ella Montminy and Briana Grant played well off the bench scoring seven and nine points respectively.
Darby Toth led UMPI with 30 points.
