1934 – 2015

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Joan Meservier Terry, 80, of Las Vegas, Nev., and formerly of Lewiston and California, died Sunday, Jan. 25, after a long illness.

Born in Lewiston on Oct. 4, 1934, a daughter of Alphonse and Hubertha (Rivard) Meservier, she was educated at Holy Cross School and Biddeford Pool. Shortly thereafter, she joined the armed forces in the U.S. Navy.

Joan married her military husband, Thomas Terry, on Dec. 28, 1957, at the naval base chapel in Chelsea, Mass.; he passed away on Oct. 19, 2000, in California.

Survivors include two sons, William Terry and wife, Vicky, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Thomas Terry and wife, Anna, of Naples, Fla.; a daughter who cared for her, Patricia Raushel, of Las Vegas, Nev.; two grandsons, Jerry Holland Jr. and Andrew Terry; a brother, Robert Meservier, of Auburn; sisters-in-law, Susan Meservier of Oregon and Doris Meservier of Lewiston; and many nieces and nephews.

Joan was predeceased by her parents; husband; three brothers, Charles “Leo,” Jean “Paul” and Richard; two sisters, Shirley and Yvette Meservier; and a sister-in-law, Anita Meservier.

She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
