1929 – 2015
WINTHROP — Norrice B. Smith, 85, a resident of Leeds, passed away Wednesday morning, Feb. 4, at Heritage Manor.
She was born in Leeds on July 21, 1929, a daughter of Florus and Doris Knox Additon. Norrice attended school in Leeds and was a 1949 graduate of the Leavitt Institute in Turner.
On Aug. 14, 1954, in Leeds, she married Robert C. Smith; he passed away Dec. 27, 1993.
Norrice was a bus driver for SAD 52 for 16 years; she was awarded Bus Driver of the Year during the 1986-87 school year.
She enjoyed cooking, snowmobiling, going to camp, doing ceramics and knitting — she was a very social lady. She was a member of Leeds Community Church and sang in the choir.
Norrice is survived by her sons, Ted Smith and his fiancée, Karen, of Waterville, Dennis Smith and his companion, Maryann, of Leeds and Scott Smith and his wife, Julie, of Cumberland; her daughter, Lin Smith, of Belmont, Mass.; her sister, Paula Mulherin and her husband, Jim, of Minot; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert; and two sisters, Nedra Pettengill and Marlene Additon.
