1941 – 2015
AUBURN — Judith Elaine Taylor, the eldest daughter of Montress and H. Alfred Wiles, 73, of Oxford, passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer, with her family by her side, at the Hospice House on Wednesday, Feb. 4.
She was born in Hartford, Conn., on Sept. 10, 1941, and lived on Pikes Hill in Norway and attended local schools.
She married Warren Carroll Taylor of Nebraska on Oct. 3, 1959, at the First Universalist Church in Norway. They moved and resided in the Midwest, where Judy attended two years of junior college while living in Kansas City, Kan. Judy and Warren have two children, James Taylor and Pamela Farnum.
Judy was employed as an office secretary for the special education department in the Albany, N.Y., school district. Judy and her two children returned to Maine every summer to vacation at the family camp on Thompson Lake.
Later, Judy returned permanently to Maine working in Tupperware. She enjoyed traveling the country with her husband, an over-the-road truck driver.
Judy was worthy matron of Elm Vale Chapter No. 105, Order of the Eastern Star, in Harrison. She enjoyed activities with her Red Hat sisters, breakfasts with her high school classmates and making beautiful, homemade stamped cards to show how much she loved her family and friends. She was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years; brother, Stephen Wiles and wife, Anita, of Otisfield; sister, Laurie Porter, of Wilmington, N.C.; son, James and wife, Julie, of Cary, N.C.; and daughter, Pam and husband, Tim, of Oxford. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Zachary, Matthew, Brandi, Benjamin and Samuel; as well as many nieces and nephews.
