New director hired
for Dinner Theater
RUMFORD — Anyone interested in participating in the chorus for RAAPA’s spring show, “It’s All About Love,” has until Wednesday, Feb. 18 to sign up.
The musical theme of the evening is “It’s All About Love!” but will include some twists and turns that should delight audience members who will also be engaged in the murder-mystery drama part of the evening. Some of the musical pieces will include “It’s a Grand Night For Singing,” “I’m Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself A Letter,” “Nothing Like a Dame,” “Anything Goes,” “Days of Wine and Roses,” and a few surprises.
Old and new members are invited to join the chorus for this reshaping of the annual Spring show, which has become an integral part of the dinner theater experience for River Valley audiences over the years. The dates of the performance are Friday, May 15, and Saturday, May 16, at the Eagles Hall in Rumford.
In addition, RAAPA walcomes a new musical director to its annual Spring Dinner Theater. Shirli Allen-Heald from Norway will be directing the choral section of the show, fresh off the heels of her highly successful “Christmastide” concert this past December in Oxford Hills. Shirli is a seasoned director and performer who brings high energy and fun to all productions she’s been associated with. The RAAPA organization is excited to have Shirli add her talent and creativity to this exciting dinner theater experience, which will also include a murder mystery production directed by RAAPA veteran, Connie Venskus.
Anyone interested in joining the chorus for this production is asked to contact Anita Murphy, RAAPA President, at 369-0205 to reserve a music folder.
