HALLOWELL – Gaslight Theater will hold auditions for “Wonder of the World,” an adult comedy, Sunday and Monday, June 22-23. They will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday and at 6 p.m. Monday at Hallowell City Hall Auditorium, 1 Winthrop St.

In “Wonder of the World,” Cass discovers a dirty little secret in her husband’s sweater drawer. It is so shocking that she has no choice but to flee to the honeymoon capital of the world in a frantic search for the life she thinks she missed out on. Cass embarks on a journey of self-discovery that has her crossing paths with a blithely suicidal alcoholic, a lonely tour-boat captain, a pair of bickering private detectives and a strange caper involving a gargantuan jar of peanut butter.

The cast has seven people all told: three men, four women (doubling). It includes a youngish couple, a middle-aged couple and one woman who plays many roles.

Auditions will be cold readings. Some improv may be requested. A short prepared piece is advised for those new to Gaslight. All auditions are held at Hallowell City Hall , One Winthrop Street, Hallowell.
