LEWISTON — Central Maine Hearing Center audiologist David Jardine will host a presentation about tinnitus, a condition often referred to as “ringing in the ear,” at an event set for Saturday, March 23, in Lewiston.

Jardine will discuss the common causes of tinnitus, an irritating and often debilitating condition that affects more than 50 million Americans. He will consider how the condition can impact someone’s health and what treatment options are available. A question and answer session will follow his presentation.

Although there is no cure for tinnitus, understanding the cause of the condition and how it can be managed often improves someone’s hearing and quality of life.

Jardine is program coordinator at Central Maine Hearing Center in Lewiston. At Central Maine Hearing Center he specializes in basic and complex hearing testing for adults. He also specializes in the assessment and management of tinnitus as well as balance disorders due to complications of the inner ear. He is uniquely qualified in auditory rehabilitation and is a member of an elite group of audiologists certified in the fitting of Lyric extended wear hearing aids.

The tinnitus presentation will be offered at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, in Chairmen’s Room A, 12 High St., Lewiston.

The presentation is free and open to the public. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. To register, call 207-786-9949.
