HALLOWELL — Scholarships for students enrolled in construction-related programs are available again this year, thanks to the Maine Chapter 276 of the National Association of Women in Construction. Applications are available at http://www.nawicmaine.org/scholarships/. The deadline is May 1 for new applicants.

$500 and $1,000 awards are awarded for one to four years to construction (or construction-related) students at any post-secondary college, university or community college. Recipients are selected based on financial needs and scholastic achievement, depending on the chosen courses, whether it’s learning a skilled trade or civil engineering. Scholarships are available to men and women, and though they are reserved for residents of Maine, students may be attending schools inside or outside of Maine.

Scholarship applications will also be available at the NAWIC Booth during Construction Expo, which runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, at the Augusta Civic Center.
