DIXFIELD – Singer/songwriter Sammie Angel, originally from the Wilton-Farmington area, has performed with or opened for many great musicians, including Tanya Tucker, Reba McIntyre, The Coasters, Johnny Lee and Bo Diddly.
Saturday, Jan. 19, she will perform at the Dixfield Coffee House beginning at 7 p.m.
Angel has been singing and performing most of her life. She plays classics and oldies, with country and gospel as her favorites – something she attributes to being “raised on old-time gospel music.” She is known for her love of people and her enthusiasm.
Angel has played at the Dixfield Coffee House before and is always a crowd-pleaser.
After moving to Florida, she returned to Maine for many years to perform at the Blueberry Festival in Wilton. She and her husband, Clint, relocated to Maine in January 2006 and now live in Dixfield, where they have opened the Front Porch Cafe. Since then, Angel has performed at area churches, nursing homes and local American Legion halls.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with desserts, coffees and teas available for purchase. The Dixfield CoffeeHouse is in the annex of the Dixfield Congregational Church on High Street. Admission is $5 for adults at the door. Children 12 and younger admitted free if accompanied by parents.
