PORTLAND – Maine native and indie singer-songwriter Audrey Ryan returns home after a seven-week tour of Europe. She is celebrating her return with a Portland show Saturday, Dec. 22 at The North Star Cafe, 225 Congress St.
Audrey was in Europe in support of her new album, Dishes & Pills, the quirky pop-oriented album that is getting a lot of critical and listener acclaim in indie circles. It is released in Europe on the Folkwit label and is self-released in the states, where she is receiving considerable label attention. The multi-instrumentalist plays all instruments on her CD except some drums and horns.
The extremely ambitious seven-week tour only allowed five days off and included multi-night appearances playing to enthiusiastic response in London, Paris, Dublin and Amsterdam. It was her second European tour of the year, and she has receicved many opportunities to return, possibly during the festival season next year. For now, she says, she is looking forward to reuniting with friends and fanily over the holidays and resuming her hectic performing schedule throughout the U.S.
