The Portland indie band Subject Bias will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at She Doesn’t Like Guthries in Lewiston. Subject Bias won the Portland Phoenix’s Best Indie Rock Band 2006 competition and was runner-up in 2004-05. On their latest album, “And This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things,” band members use acoustic and electric sounds to deliver smart lyrics with an edge, which have been compared to Elliot Smith and Bright Eyes. Lead singer Kevin Ouellette describes the music as “honest.” There is no cover charge. Guthries is at 115 Middle St. For more information, visit myspace.com/guthriesplace, or call 376-3344.
