MONMOUTH – Do you sing or dance? Juggle? Perform magic tricks, perhaps? Or, play a musical instrument? If you do and would like to to share your talent with an audience, then Monmouth Community Players would like to hear from you.

The theater troupe will put on its second annual Monmouth’s Got Talent competition open to people of all ages in the central Maine region.

There will be three categories with winners chosen in each: kindergarten through grade 8, teenagers and people 18 and older. An overall winner will walk away with $150.

Preliminaries will be held at 7 o’clock tonight at Cumston Hall.

Performances should be between two and five minutes in length and family-oriented. Competitors should come prepared with their own equipment and music, if required. Performances will be rated by MCP board members. Those with the highest-rated acts will move on to the final contest to be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, also at Cumston Hall. Finalists will perform their acts again, with winners to be selected by a panel of local judges.

If interested in participating, call Kathleen Nation at 933-2208 to register.

Admission to the preliminary competition is free. Admission to the finals is $5, with door prizes and refreshments available.
