WEST PARIS — The West Paris Library has been selected by the Maine Humanities Council to offer “Let’s Talk About It,” a free reading and discussion group with copies of books available through the library. This program is provided by the Maine Humanities Council’s Maine Center for the Book in cooperation with the Maine State Library.
The series, Across Cultures and Continents – Literature of Southeast Asia, begins at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 21, at the West Paris Library, 206 Main St., West Paris. The book discussions will continue for five sessions through Aug. 13.
Books to be read and discussed in the series are “A Passage to India” by E.M. Forster, “Midnight’s Children” by Salman Rushdie, “Bricklane” by Monica Ali, “Jasmine” by Bharat Makhirya and “Interpreter of Maladies” by Jhumpa Lahiri. A scholar provided by the Maine Humanities Council will facilitate the discussions.
