“The Room at Trinity” aka “The RAT” is a monthly concert series sponsored by Trinity Church that brings an eclectic and high-quality selection of music to the inner city of Lewiston. The concerts are held on the second Saturdays of the month, from September through April. Each evening begins with a poetry reading followed by a concert.
Davis plays and sings a mix of traditional and original songs. He weaves storytelling, beautiful, intricate guitar playing, and evocative lyrics full of poetic imagery. His songs present a series of musical short stories focused on topics from reincarnation to love, doubt, survival and redemption.
The two musicians say, “Like the guitarist Michael Hedges, we play the guitar because it lets us dream out loud.”
The opening poet at this December concert will be Sarah Yasin. Sarah teaches Latin and English at Lewiston’s own Alcuin Academy. She can also be seen behind the counter of Lewiston Variety where she works the register. By night she writes. Her most recent poems can be found in “J Journal,” the “HWA Poetry Showcase,” and “Pirene’s Fountain.”
The doors open at 6:30 p.m. Snacks and beverages will be offered at intermission.
For more information or to offer your talents as an opener or performer next year, please submit an application through the RAT website at www.theroomtrinity.wordpress.com.
