LEWISTON – Maine resident and author Angela Weiler will sign copies of her book, “Goin’ Up the Country: A Novel in Stories,” from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at Mr. Paperback in the Promenade Mall.

“Goin’ Up the Country” is set in the ’70s in Aroostook County, where Weiler and her husband lived for six years. It draws from her experiences living in northern Maine during the “back-to-the-land” movement.

“My years in Maine are precious to me to this day,” Weiler said. “In this book, I tried to write with affection and emotion about the people I met in The County.”

Noted Maine author Sanford Phippen has described “Goin’ Up the Country” as a good and lively story with a rich sense of humor and a sharp eye for detail. It is published by Log Cabin Books of Hamilton, N.Y., which maintains a Web site at www.logcabinbooks.com.
