FREYBURG — The Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center presents the 4th Annual Fryeburg “Academy Awards” at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, May 23. The Academy Awards features original short films written, produced, directed, and edited by Fryeburg Academy students over the last year. This year’s show will feature master of ceremonies, Bob Hodgman-Burns; hosts Catherine Ashley and Edward Grace, and musical performances by Helen Driesen and Bertram Ranftl.
At 6:30 p.m. the sharply dressed filmmakers will arrive by limo and walk the red carpet through a crowd of paparazzi into the LHE/PAC lobby. Once inside the theater, there will be a selection of nominated films in a number of categories. The event is always unpredictable and never without special surprises.
As always this is a free community event, but donations will be gratefully accepted to help support the academy’s film program.
The LHE/PAC is located at 18 Bradley St. FMI call 207-935-9232 or email [email protected].
