Local merchants deserve recognition
To the Editor:
Let us praise local merchants:
Stan’s Auto on the Crystal Vale Road (off the Weeks Mills Rd.) in New Sharon – I’ve been going there for the last five years and intend to continue doing so. Stan provides excellent service and doesn’t charge an arm and a leg for it, he won’t sell you something you don’t need, and Spike (the wonder dog) loves him.
How best to sum it up? I trust my mechanic.
Hanlon’s Pet Haven – 887 Fairbanks Rd. in Farmington. Doggie daycare – an idea whose time has come. I’ve been taking Spike (the wonder dog) there twice a week going on 10 years now, and he still scratches the door in the car and whines with eagerness when we turn down the driveway. I’ve bordered Spike (the wonder dog) there more than once through the years, because I trust Caitlin. Their motto is ‘a tired dog is a good dog’.
You get your money’s worth, and they also board cats.
Pitcher Perfect Tires, downtown (?) New Sharon – Josh Pitcher and his employees provide good service, courteous service, and there is always have a good inventory on hand. If they don’t have it in store they can have it there within 24 hours, and they recommend you come back within 50 miles of service for a free checkup, and they have cool t-shirts.
You get your money’s worth, and there are usually (not guaranteed) one or two silly dogs on the premises.
