First Universalist Church to hold annual Rhubarb Festival

WEST PARIS – The First Universalist Church of West Paris will hold its fifth annual Rhubarb Festival and white elephant sale from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 6, at the church on Main Street.

The event has seen rhubarb enthusiasts visit from all over come to purchase homemade confections made with rhubarb, including pies, muffins, sauces and jams.

Lovell thrift shop to hold sale, annouces thrift shop hours

LOVELL — The thrift shop of the Lovell United Church of Christ will offer a $1 bag sale from Monday, June 8, to Saturday, June 20, on Route 5.  The thrift shop will also include free toys and books.

The thrift shop is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon. It will be closed Saturday, June 13; Monday, June 22; and Wednesday, June 24.

Foothills Land Conservancy to gather for annual meeting

WILTON — The Foothills Land Conservancy will hold its annual meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, at the Academy Hill School Cafeteria in Wilton.

As part of the meeting, Nancy Prentiss, a faculty member at the University of Maine at Farmington who was recently recognized for the discovery of a new species of marine worm, will present a talk and slideshow about the plants found on the Foothills Land Conservancy preserve.

The public is invited to attend.
